As a Senior Consultant in the Senior Home health field, I have found that Sam Sellers new book explains to families and seniors what home care is and what is to be expected by reputable agencies, and care givers. It is written in an easy, straightforward manner that helps families, and seniors sort out the complexities of fighting to stay in the home safely. It can be done with a little understanding. The book gives simple outlines and definitions that enable the family and seniors to stay in control of their care by simply understanding the process of executing a sound in-home care plan along with your doctor, care giver, and various support agencies. It helps you understand the various options that you have to remain safe, free, and in control of your life as you gently age. In the end it is a manual that helps you maintain your freedom and dignity during the remaining years of your loved one.
This book answers the many questions facing seniors, their families and their caregivers. The book is well researched, thoughtful and shows the understanding that can only be gained by working with our senior population. As the owner of a non medical homecare agency I have not found a better book about the trials and tribulations of being a caregiver than this book. Sam descriptions of the joys of care giving and the problems are right to the point. If you are just beginning your care giving journey or think you know it all this book is a great read for anyone. Sam does an amazing job clarifying the senior network. Great resource for families and caregivers. A clear concise explanation of senior care.
This book is like an encyclopedia for people looking into home care. It addresses most every issue in a gentle, caring manner. Caring for an aging parent (or spouse) can be challenging, and navigating the rules, regulations and red tape can be overwhelming. Sam Sellers does a masterful job at clarifying the core issues, providing helpful resources and explaining things in language that is easy to understand. This is destined to be THE resource for families investigating home care options. I recommend it without reservation.
This book was very informative and also will assist me when trying to gain more clients for our Home Helpers and Direct Link Franchise in Laurens, South Carolina. Another reason why I think that this book is great is because of the auther who is also a fellow Home Helpers and Direct Link franchisee. He was willing to share with us how he has been a success, and the things that he has run across when it comes to dealing with potential clients, existing clients, and their family members.
